“Juice” definition
The “Juice” or the “vig” in the sports gambling industry is the amount of money received as commission for taking your bet.
The sportsbook only collects the juice when your bet is lost. However, the juice is not paid to players on winning bets.
Example:
LA Lakers is a 7-point favorite over Boston Celtics with the juice on both sides set at -110. Players can either wager on LA Lakers -7 (-110) or Boston Celtics +7 (-110). If $100 was wagered and the bet won, the player would accrue $91 in profit.
